DJ MKL

Born in Belize. Raised in New York during the birth of hip hop. Shaped by every city he’s ever played. MKL is not a DJ who found music — he’s a DJ music found first.

Over three decades behind the decks and ten as a producer, MKL has played Body & Soul alongside Joe Claussell, Danny Krivit, and Francois K — the most revered names in New York dance music. His productions have landed on Sony, Wave Music, and Spiritual Life Music. His remix of John Legend’s “Green Light” gave it a dubstep makeover for its Sony/BMG release. His label Lion1music has released progressive music from artists across the globe.

The venues read like a world tour — Le Bain, Doubles, Cielo, and Sullivan Room in New York. Nikki Beach and Sushi Samba in Miami. Space Lab Yellow in Tokyo. Club Home in Mykonos. Propaganda in Moscow. Barramundi in Paris. Wolffer Estate in the Hamptons.
